Duncans Tours Scotland will take visitors to see either the inside or outside of any castle located anywhere in Scotland. As our Tour operation is located or based near Aberdeen City in Westhill Aberdeenshire most of these Castles are within easy reach within one day are located in central Aberdeenshire, Morayshire, Angus and for longer Tours above 8 hours the Castles are located in the Highland Region, Perthshire , Stirlingshire and Fife as well as Edinburgh.
It’s usually possible to visit two three castles in Aberdeenshire in one day if you go and see inside them. Most furnished castles in the north east region are owned by the National Trust for Scotland and most of those Castles in ruins are the older castles are owned by Historic Scotland. There are also some privately owned Castles to visit such as Glamis, Dunnottar, Scone, Dalgaty, Blair Castle , Dunrobin , Ballindalloch, Balmoral Castle as well as Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness.
Please note most Castles are open from Easter Monday to the end of September and October each year but there are a few castles open all year round too but not many you always see the outside of all those castles that are not privately owned. Depending on whether you are staying in Aberdeen city or Inverness city some of these castles may be close to you and be seen within a 8 hour day Tour or some may take a longer Tour 10 hours or more than one day to visit those castles you choose to visit if you want to see more. Most castles are open on selected days depending which month and you have to check they are open from their web sites from April to September.
